The small town of Vonore, Tennessee is getting much attention after Vanessa Wolfe auditioned in the 5th season of the popular talent search show American Idol.
Vonore is a town in Monroe and Blount counties with population of about 1,200 at 2000 census. Its location at the confluence of the Little Tennessee River and the Tellico River places it near the center of one of the richest archaeological regions in the southeastern United States.
