The Result of USA vs Canada Women’s Hockey

25 February 2010 No Comment

United States women’s hockey team has been aiming to win the gold medal in Winter Olympics since their last won was back in 1998. As the Winter Olympics open this year they have been dominating the competition, winning almost all their games, which has given them the opportunity to be in the final round. However, in the final round they will be facing their rival the Canada women’s hockey team.

The game between the two teams was full of excitement because both teams are aiming to bring the glory to their country. The game started with tough defense on both side. Both teams were having trouble to earn points but in the end the USA team defense collapse and has given the other team two points. On the other hand, Canada defended well their goal wherein they did not give USA the chance to even score one point.

The heart breaking lost of the USA women’s hockey team has proven that Canada remains the undefeated Winter Olympics champion in women’s hockey. The team has been dominating the Winter Olympics since they grab their very first gold medal in 2000 and since then they always win the gold medal until now. Though USA was the first team to win the very first gold medal since it was launched in 1998, they lost the chance to defend it and always lost against its rival team.

With the win of the Canada women’s hockey team, their country will have additional medals on their list. They are currently on the third spot having a total of 16 medals while USA remains on top of the list with a total of 31 medals.

The 2010 Winter Olympics is nearing to its end but there are still remaining games to look forward. However, it seems that United States of America will still be the grand winner of this year’s Winter Olympics having the highest number of medals gathered.
