After several days of deliberation and process, the mascot for the Ole Miss Football team will be replaced and Admiral Ackbar is on top of their list. Admiral Ackbar has been the student’s favorite ever since the campaign for a new mascot has began. Most of the students are excited with their new mascot that they even made a voting process through social network site such as Facebook and even at Twitter. Although it is not yet been officially announced by the University of Mississippi, it is likely that Admiral Ackbar will be their new mascot.

Who can ever forget the famous character of Admiral Ackbar? He is part of one of the most favorite film of all time “Star Wars,” which was first released on 1977 and until now it still one of the best films ever made. Ackbar is known as the highest official of the Rebel Alliance of the movie which is why most of the students believe that he will be a perfect representative of the Football team since they are known as the “Rebels.”

If the campaign will be successful, Ackbar will be replacing the Ole Miss former mascot known as Colonel Reb. The former mascot looks like a wealthy antebellum plantation owner, which hasn’t shown since 2003. With the span of time that Colonel Reb hasn’t been around on every game of their team for several years now, the students believe that it is time to replace him with a new one and Ackbar will be the perfect replacement.

While the students love Ackbar to be part of their University, they might face some complications against the creator of the character. The University has to deal with George Lucas, who is known to be very protective on his every creation. They will have to pay him certain amount by using his character for their team.
