Charlie Brown Valentine’s Day Special

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and a lot of people are preparing for this special day. It is usually being celebrated by couples who are engage with each other but there are also some who prefer to spend it with their friends and family. With this upcoming special day the Charlie Brown Valentine’s Day episode is once again on the line.

The show was originally aired on the 14 day of February 2002, which was aired in ABC channel. The show features the character of Peanuts who want to ask the Little Red-Haired character to go out with him on Valentine’s Day. However, he does not have the courage to do it and eventually he ended celebrating the day with Peppermint Patty, who has a secret love for him. The story may be very common but it’s meaningful wherein a lot of people can relate to it that is why it became popular.

Charlie Brown Valentine’s Day special was animated using the Digital ink and paint animation, which is combined with the Traditional cel animation. It is also the first produced Peanuts special by the ABC after being part of the CBS. The concept of this special Valentine’s Day episode was adapted from the Peanuts first released special episode, which is the “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” With the success of this special Christmas episode the creators has decided to also develop for the Valentine’s Day.

After being aired in 2002, the Charlie Brown Valentine’s Day special was re-aired in 2008 and has gathered 5.36 million home viewers. Its huge number of home viewers has placed it number two on the primetime TV ratings for that night alone. In 2009, two Charlie Brown valentines special was re-aired by the ABC these are “Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown” and the “Charlie Brown Valentine’s Day”. This year there is still no announcement if it will be re-aired but it will surely be as entertaining as it was.
