Orlando Hudson Twins Newest Player
Orlando Hudson signs a one year contract as the newest player of the Minnesota Twins. He will be receiving 5 million dollars salary as part of the contract. Hudson was also offered by Nationals and the Indians to be part of their team but he refuses their offer and chose the Twins instead. His last team was the Los Angeles Dodgers wherein he played for just one year. He also became part of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Arizona Diamonds.
Hudson just turns 32 last December 12 but because of his experience and achievements he is still one of the best players in the league. In years 2007 and 2009, he was chosen to be part of the All-Star selection. The highlight of his career was when he won his first award in 2005, which is the prestigious Gold Glove Award. This was followed in 2007 and last year.
Minnesota Twins is one of the most popular team in baseball and with the addition of Orlando Hudson the team will become more competitive. They are hoping to win a Major league title with Orlando Hudson’s leadership. Their last achievement was winning the Central Division, which they won for the fifth time. Their last World Series was dated way back in 1991 and they are hoping to win it this year.
Hudson’s defensive talent’s will surely be a great help for the team but there are still issues that he will be facing since he is new to the team. He will be adjusting to his teammates and to their coach system. The management of the Minnesota Twins believes that Hudson is the missing link of the team in winning the World Series. As a veteran baseball player, Hudson can provide the younger players with his knowledge about the game.
Orlando Hudson’s 5 million dollar contract will last for just one year but it can always be renewed especially of if he still willing to play baseball and give the Minnesota Twins the title that they are aiming to have.
