After 7 years of being the head coach of LA Clippers, Mike Dunleavy Sr. is now being replaced by Kim Hughes. The sudden change of the coaching staff was because LA Clippers is hoping to be part of the playoffs. Their main objective is to win the remaining 32 games of the team and although it will need a lot of hard work to fulfill this objective they are still having a positive thought about it.

Kim Hughes has never worked as a head coach but with his experience as an ABA and NBA player he will be able to share his knowledge on the game. His 6 years experience of being Mike Dunleavy’s assistant coach can also help him in his new task.

Hughes has been part of so many teams but not as a head coach. He worked as a Scouting Director for the Denver Nuggets and later on became a Director of the Player Personnel of the same team. He started his career as an assistant coach of the Denver Nuggets in 1998-99 seasons.

As a basketball player, Hughes was part of the ABA All-Rookie First Team in 1975-76. In 1978, he signed his first NBA career on Nuggets and retired as a Cleveland Cavaliers player. After retiring from playing in NBA he went home in Rome and played for the Reggio Calabria. He retired from playing basketball in 1989 as a Milan player.

Being assigned as a new head coach of the LA clippers, he will have to do a lot of changes on the team to improve their performance. They only have 32 games left and with the pressure in his shoulder a lot of the Clippers fans have a doubt if they will have a chance to enter the playoffs. With this change in the coaching staff Clippers players will have to adjust to Hughes strategy to be able win their remaining games.
