Rahm Emanuel Retard Word Controversy

3 February 2010 No Comment

The word “retard” is now a big controversy because of its connection to the White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. The controversy of the word started back in August 2009 when Rahm got angry to his fellow participants in a strategy session and call them “retards.” The issue became worst when Sarah Palin demanded that Rahm must resign from his position and live the White House. She even posted her anger on her social network account and asked the President Barrack Obama to do some action by eliminating Rahm from his office.

Sarah Palin is also an American politician who is currently serving as a Governor in Alaska. Her anger towards Rahm using the word retards affected her so much because of her youngest daughter who is suffering from Down syndrome who needs a special attention. Her demand of removing Rahm from the White House office is to stop him from being offensive to other people. Rahm is known for using colorful languages during business meetings. Sarah’s sensitivity towards this issue is what a mother would normally feel but there are some commentators thought that it is not really a big deal.

Fortunately, the issue was taken by the White House seriously and forced Rahm to apologize in the public especially to those who have been affected. He was also asked to personally give his apology to Tom Shriver who was invited to the White House to discuss the issue. This is the best way that Rahm could do to give his sincere apologies to all the members and participants of the Special Olympics since Tom Shriver is the CEO of the organization.

Hopefully with this turn of events Rahm will be stopped from using foul words against other individuals because as an experienced politician he must know how to treat all the individuals equally.
