2 February 2010 No Comment

The name Wanda Barzee has been all over the news when she and her husband Brian David Mitchell kidnapped Elizabeth Smart on the 5th day of June 2002. During that time Elizabeth was just 14 years old when she was abducted by the suspects and forced from her bedroom in Salt Lake City, Utah. Wanda was accused by the court as part of the kidnapping even though she was not competent enough to do the trial.

She is currently having her medication for her mental illness but already pleaded guilty and promised to be a witnessed against her husband. She even asked for forgiveness from her victim Elizabeth though during the trial she was not around to hear Wanda’s sorry. She is now starting to be back to her real self after suffering mental illness. However, her children still remembered her as a monster mom because on how she treated them when she was still with them.

LouRee Gayler, one of her daughter, stated in the Oprah show last Tuesday, February 2, 2010 episode that her mother cooked her pet rabbit for dinner. She deceived them that it was a chicken. The next day when she was about to feed her pet she found out that her rabbit is no longer at its cage that was the time when her mother told her the truth.

Derrick Thompson, the author of the book “Raised by Wolves,” also said that he never feel safe on their home since he was a victim of physical abuse. Even Wanda’s daughter Andrea calls her as a monster and the reason why she went out and guest to the show is to expose her true color.

Wanda has not been sentenced for her participation on the Smart kidnapping though she already pleaded guilty since she is still in mental hospital because of her mental condition.
